This method aims at smoothing out wrinkles and consists in performing injections into selected wrinkles on the face. The mechanism of Botox is based on a temporary blockage and relaxation of the facial muscles which results in smoothing out wrinkles for about six months.

BOTOX is a protein produced by the bacterium Clostrudium botulinum. When injected into the muscle, this protein blocks the transmission of a chemical signal causing the contraction of a muscle for a certain period of time. It is applied in a small amount and has effect only on the muscle into which it has been injected.
